Fading Away
by Mark Lawson (Age: 21)
copyright 07-02-2007

Age Rating: 13 to 127

All of life's pleasures
Haunt me with the echo of constant pain
I fear I will never have a one
A one with a purity to light my world
As time and failure pass by me
These emotions within me begin to die
For I know this will never be
I will never find this
A longing to be set free
It has come close before
Through sheltered nights behind hidden doors
But they could never last
Their sweet naivety
Serenading away my sanity
This vision of serenity that I desire
Shattering the painful silence
With their departing words
That echo in my soul
With each passing breath
Another piece of me fades away
Departing to where I belong
Among the shadows of life's despairs
The solstice between the lies
Here I remain
Forever lost in the paradise
Of my past heart's desires

Once I often believe I would never find that "One pure enough to light my World." but I found it, after what would seem to be a never ending nightmare of lies, mistruths, deceit and sorrow. Never forget in a single moment, we can destroy ourselves by letting the shadow's Musings creep into our veins like a vipers venomous bite, but all in that same moment, we can become victorious in our beliefs and confidences within ourselves. H

This is a captivating work of art, so innocent in truth, yet so dark in how lost and hurt the story teller is. I love your work Mark, absolutely adore your style. Keep up the good work, for surely I will visit more often.
