War With Boredom
by Leigh G.
copyright 01-21-2007
Contest Winner

Age Rating: 10 to 127

This is for Jordan Screws' January 07 contest, Fighting Boredom.

Well, when I get a boredom blast I get a big one. It usually happens when I have writers block, no new video games, DVDs, or CDs... If I can get my self into productive mood, I'll crank some music I'm not too terribly familiar with and do some cleaning in my room.
If I have nothing to do at all, no matter what the weather I'll go do some laps and weight lifting. I have to have a little bit of enthusiasm to to calisthenics most of the time...
Okay, there's the normal things I do when boredom strikes...
I also play with my cats...before I put you to sleep, this involves chasing them around the house yelling,
"GREMLINS IN FLIGHT!" and "One wenine gremlins wena!" after all that, traditional cat play after word. The "one wenine gremlins wena" is mutilated Latin or Greek... It's really "on wenine wo sheper wena". Or at least that's how it sounds in Utada Hikaru's song Sanctuary.
Usually if I get so bored in school, I'll doodle ninja squirrels, dojos, and tree forts in a notebook. These poorly-drawn ninja squirrels say things like, "Fear Nature's Furry Army!" And, "I will shove my explosive nuts up your..." You can chose what word you want in there.
I also crank music, and sing along badly while I dance like a fool and end up falling on my @$$ if the floor is slippery.
Well, if I'm not too disgusted with virtual stimuli, I'll play a RPG with fun combat. If I'm pissed off, I'll blow things up in one of the Ratchet & Clank games. Can their-person shooters be funny? They sure can when you have control of a "Lombax." (I believe I'm spelling that right...)
I will also pick on my friends, and start singing about ninja squirrels, spongy circus peanuts, golden toilets, plant defenses, samurai groundhogs, pain-in-the-ass siblings, crazy beetle-munching cats, their obsessions with fictional characters (you know who you are), among other crazy things like that.
I also make jokes about the piles of clutter (aka crap...) on my desk. (Which I can never seem to best in the never-ending war!)
Are you guys falling asleep again yet? You should be, I've chattered about boarding stuff a little while now...
I also browse for wallpapers online and yell things at my slow PC like, "C'mon you constipated three-legged turtle!"
I also will pick on my friends about my "armies of Spongy Circus Peanuts of Doom." Fear their power! Did I already mention the peanuts? Well, I'm mentioning them again.
Now, if I've got a really, really, really bad case of boredom...I'll get off my lazy @$$ and submit some of my stories to PnP! Hence why I try now to get that desperately sick of the normal things. I also like to spar with my father though...
There's a thousand other things I do...but, alas, that's all I can think of off-hand. Oh, well I also study Japanese when I'm sick of the usual...

:D Leigh my pal, you must have never looked up the lyrics to Sanctuary. It's "wonk uoy naht niotceffa erom deen I". Backwards, it says, "I need more affection than you know". And then the other lines, "Snwod dna spu ynam os" and "Snoitome eurt deen I" = "So many ups and downs" and "I need true emotions". It's that simple *and clean, I should add*! ;)

That's some war you've got going. Seems to me that you're winning! Honestly, "Gremlins in flight"! I would love to meet your cats. They must be from the planet Grelbnor. You can ask Jordan what that is! ;)

All in all, that's one outstanding write. Cheery, hilarious, and light-hearted! Just like old times, eh? I think it must be the Spongy Circus Peanuts. You're writing more about them than healthy. Easy on the craziness, Perse! :D:D Just joking! I like reading about them. You really should put in a scene for FoF when Akhy finally gets some circus peanuts to Cloud. T'would be hilarious!

You know what? I also put on some crazy music, sing along with iron lungs, and dance like an idiot when I'm bored to death. Well, sometimes. The only difference is that I've got carpet to stand on. So I don't slip, I just rip my socks.
-_-' Half of my socks are ripped...

By the way, have you ever tried singing along to country songs?

:D Great write, Leigh! 5 "gremlins" all the way!

P.S. 5 gremlins... for some reason, the phrase "mixed blessing" comes into my mind
