Risking Stripes (an ABC poem)
by Jackie Moranty
copyright 10-19-2001

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Abundant beauty careens down every fragrant, grassy hill.
Infinitely just. Knowing lions may nab only parts.

Quietly risking stripes to unchanging, violent worlds.
Xeroscape yardmasters - - Zebras.

What a fun challenge, thanks, John!

Very well done.

Thanks to both of you for your kind comments. Actually, Natalie, the symolism was an accident. I was just trying to remember how the alphabet went! LOL Jackie

This was a cool poem; a fun read with symbolic meaning!

Oh, my goodness, no! No zebras for me. I like to look at them, but I don't want to try to train them. That would be like training a rattlesnake to sit up and beg! I've gotten myself in some messes with horses, but I usually don't ask for it. LOL Jackie

I love it love it love it Jackie, you have done a great job with this one. I know how hard it is to do this type of poem and you have obviously gave it considerable thought.

Thanks, all!

Bob, I guess that Zebras are a kind of horse, same decent anyway. It was the only Z word that came to mind. Yeah it does figure, doesn't it?

Robert, Xeroscapes are really popular now in the drier climates. Landscaping that doesn't take much water. Rock gardens and such.

I knew you'd find a way to get something about horses in there. Well, technically they're horses, aren't they? Heehee... very clever!
