Just to See Your Eyes
by Wayne Thomas (Age: 58)
copyright 05-30-2007

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Just to see your eyes
enflames my sense of wonder--
a fire from within,
a blaze from without,
a wonder beyond my words to express,
that for all these years
you've made yourself a part
of my humble life.
And if from time to time
I see a trace of sadness,
I know it is from my doing and not yours,
for I find peace in your presence,
a simple joyfulness in knowing
you volunteered
to spend your days with me.
And I feel a sweet contentment,
green grass and snowfall,
from deep within arise,
and the blessed gift of happiness--
Just to see your eyes.

This reminds me of the country song "Just to see you smile". I do like this, although part of it felt just a little bit forced. Still...it was pretty minor, and I probably only noticed because I'm tried and reading slow, lol.

This is such a wonderful dedication to someone who must be well deserving of it! It's astounding sometimes when you look at the one you love and realize, somehow, someway...they love you too.
