This is Life
by Jessica P. (Age: 15)

This is life as some dream it could be...

See here all the people
Can get along just fine
Look into the school and see
The kids in one nice line

Do you hear what I hear?
Laughter all around
Look at everyone in church
In there there's not a sound

This is how life was...

School bells ringing noisily
Children pack their books
Come the Sabbath go to church
And a Bible's what they took

Hear of war from time to time
And winter comes along
Then comes spring and summer now
Go out to watch the dawn

Life as it once was, is no more.

Look at all the people
Lying on the ground
Listen to the raging war
It's gone and come around

Now look above the city
See that cloudy haze?
Look at all the abused kids
On the streets and in a daze

Life as it was is long gone, never to return...

We shall fall into dark times
Of lies and deadly sins
But have this hope and keep it alive
Something's waiting for those who listen

Read His word, keep it well
The Bible never lies
Invite the Lord into your heart
Those who believe in Him never die

But life as it will be will be unlike anything ever imagined...

I liked this a lot. It flowed nicely and I liked the message. This was amazing. It says it all. And you're right... "but life as it will be will be unlike anything ever imagined..." True, true. I often always think that way. Life is amazing.. so different. And we're blessed to live it.

Good work! I enjoyed this piece, for I can feel the same way, and the feeling grows with each passing line. We all feel this way nowadays, the simple days of life are gone and aren't coming back. There are always darkness's, although the ones back then were minor and unrealistic, and the darkness's of today are real, and not just a dream, there are still things to hope for and look forward to. There's all kinds of things we're capable now that we weren't when we were little, and I think the most important one is being able to make a difference now. I don't have any grammar/spelling picks on this one, good work and keep writing.
