Darkness Within The Light 4
by Jordan Screws (Age: 21)
copyright 03-14-2007

Age Rating: 10 to 127

As I lay bleeding upon the ground, all manner of thoughts entered my barely conscious mind. My first encounter with the Senshi, my first battle with them, smiting Rubeus and Wiseman and almost crushing Mistress 9's skull in my right hand... somehow, it all brought a smile to my face. My time seemed to be fading fast as the visions came faster and faster, but I could not die then... Makoto and the others still needed me! Making an effort to rise, I managed to rise to my knees, but hit the Earth face down. Feeling like an injured animal waiting to be put down, my mind started to wander once more.

Was this it? Had my life's battle ended due to my father, the very one who helped create me? I made another desperate effort to rise, but my right arm gave way as I was getting onto my feet and my face met the ground once again.

"I will not die like a dog in the gutter!" I thought as I gritted my teeth and made one more colossal effort. I pushed so hard I thought I would break the ground beneath my hands, and my feet were pushing equally hard in my bid for freedom. I was making progress until my right foot slipped, and I hit the ground hard. Feeling my jaw hit the dirt, my head jarred back as I fell defeated like Luficer being banished to the abyss after his rebellion. Slowly, I felt like the end was near...

"Is he still alive?" A small voice asked.

"He is, but just barely..." A larger female voice responded.

"Great! Get Hotaru at once!" shouted a male voice.

I felt like three people were nearby, so I tried to lift my head. Instead of people, I saw two cats, one a small purple-gray kitten and another a white cat with blue eyes. They both had crescent moon marks on their heads and were somehow cute despite the expressions of concern on their faces.

"Are these cats the ones to escort my soul to the after life?" I thought out loud.

"Not at all! We are here to save you..." the white one answered.

"Yeah! The others are worried sick about you!" the gray kitten continued.

"Really now? Talking cats are going to save me from myself? Go figure..." I muttered.

Hearing a large number of footsteps, I started to wonder who was charging in... could it be Rei to say "I told you men were weak!"? or Minako to say "You poor thing!" I looked up to see Hotaru running towards me and kneel at my injured right hand. I saw her put her hands together and hold them over the injury, and a purple energy started to heal my hand as the bleeding stopped, then it clotted, then the scars healed!

"Amazing, Hotaru. Where did you learn that useful ability?" I asked in wonder.

Lowering her head, she meekly responded "It's something I was born with..."

"HEY! There he is!" I heard a high-pitched female voice call out.

"I had better get ready..." I thought with a feeling of dread.

As soon as I thought that, Rei leaped over the bushes and pointed while screeching "There he is!" Haruka nearly trampled the cats and Hotaru to pick me up by my arm and set me standing on my feet. While my brain was catching up with my body, I felt a sharp blow to my face as my glasses went flying! Then I felt a blow to my stomach, and when I doubled over, I got a knee in my face!

"How dare you do that to us!" Haruka shouted.

"I don't know what happened... but I feel guilty..." I replied.

"You should! Your stupidity threw us all for a loop!" She screeched.

Feeling my back stiffen at the remark, I tried to ignore it and kneel down to search for my glasses.

"I'm not done with you! LOOK AT ME!" Haruka screamed.

My head jerking up automatically to face her, I thought I heard a voice saying "Kill..." I shook it off in time to be slapped across the face!

"YOU OWE US ALL AN APOLOGY! FOLLOW ME NOW!" She screamed, her face turning red.

Feeling my blood pressure rise, I heard the voice get louder "Kill... Kill... Kill..." it said, the voice chanting like football fans at the Super Bowl. Feeling further annoyed by Haruka's behavior, I felt my right hand clench into a fist and my left hand do the same... I saw Haruka walk towards me and kick me in the chest while I was kneeling!

"What a sorry piece of trash... I don't see how Makoto liked him anyway..." She muttered as she kicked me in the back.

"WHAT! SHE WILL PAY FOR THAT REMARK!" I screamed in my head. The mysterious voice in my head chanted "Kill... Kill... Kill..." faster and faster, and in my mindset I was all too willing to oblige.

As I went rolling, Haruka kept kicking until she kicked me in the stomach. With that, I leaped up and said "ENOUGH! I DID NOT SUFFER THIS MUCH TO HAVE SOME MISERABLE MORTAL KICK ME LIKE A TIN CAN!"

Taken aback, she stepped back while saying "If I have to beat you up and take you to them, fine with me... you're a pathetic excuse for a man..." she said with a smirk.

"INSOLENT FOOL! YOU WILL RUE THE DAY YOU MET ME!" I said as I felt blood running down my face and out of my nose. I had finally reached the breaking point!

"What are you going to do, bleed on me? I am skilled in the martial arts... spare me your high and mighty act!" she crowed.

I said nothing, but instead crossed my arms as my vision started to turn red and a red light covered my body. My blue armor started to appear, but then it turned black as my cloak became like the wings of a devil. The cloak finished transforming into wings and they snapped back into position as I uncrossed my arms and simply smiled at the horrified Haruka.

"Mortal fool, I shall relieve you of the burden of life!" I said as I clenched my left hand into a fist and jabbed my right index finger at her.

Too horrified to speak, she instead started running somewhere, but I darted behind her and grabbed her black leather jacket and picked her up over my head. Feeling her struggle, I threw her as hard as I could and saw her land 50 feet from my location. Smiling as I walked towards her, she was breathing hard as she scrambled to her feet and tried to escape me.

"Foolish girl..." I thought as I teleported in front of her and grabbed her by the left arm. As she dangled aloft, I started to draw my blade when she kicked me in the face. Startled, I dropped her and recovered my sword as she started to run once more. Laughing maniacally, I sheathed my blade and flew after her on my jet boosters located under my wings and was rapidly gaining on her when I tackled her and sent her flying.

I saw a circle of people gather around her and ask her what had happened.

"IT'S SHINIGAMI! Jordan's turned into Shinigami!" Haruka coughed out.

A collective gasp of horror escaped the group just as I deactivated my boosters and landed with my arms crossed and a wicked grin on my face. Usagi and the others scattered like a flock of pigeons as I approached them, but Makoto and Setsuna stood firm.

"Ahhh... it feels so good to walk the Earth once more! That audacious Haruka lass needs to be taught a lesson... no one abuses my charge and lives to see another day!" I said leisurely.

"My... charge?" Ami asked.

Turning to face her, the voice said "Ah yes... this boy you call Jordan is my charge! I have been with him since he was six. He is the son of the fabled Dark Cavalier, who had me before him!"
the voice added.

"You will learn of him soon enough. Time for her to die! FINISH THE JOB! MAKE HER PAY..." I heard.

My fist moved to obey as I leaped in the air over the prostrate Haruka and shouted "RAKUHOHA!" as my fist gathered crimson energy. The time was near and I felt the energy pulsing in my fist... only two more seconds and she would be obliterated in an expanding sphere of pure dark energy! I heard laughing in my head as my fist neared its destination...

"NO! STOP!" I heard Minako and Makoto shout.

My hand stopped its descent as I turned away and fell to my knees, vomiting all the while. I felt myself return to normal as my vision went from blood red to the normal color spectrum. I wiped my mouth after I had finished and was on one knee breathing deeply when I heard the female voice from earlier.

"That was close..." it remarked in a British accent. A nearly black cat with the same crescent moon mark as the others sat before me, looking me in the eyes. As I lacked my glasses, it was a blurry image at best, but I could make out the image of a cat.

I felt a hand grab my shoulder as someone sat down and
said "Are you alright?" It was my beloved Makoto, looking none the worse for wear!

"I believe so... but what about Haruka?" I asked.

"She's alright, just a bit banged up. You really did a number on her!" Usagi answered.

"Fortunately, she kicked me and made me so mad I put my blade away..." I added. Usagi shuddered as I included that delightful insight.

"Indeed..." laconically remarked the unperturbed Setsuna.

"Ah, my dear Setsuna-sama... I am glad to see you have nerves of steel..." I said while looking her in the face.

She merely blushed and said "To tell the truth, I was positively petrified..."

"Nice poker face..." I countered with a smile.

"Thanks...You're making me blush!" she said while covering her face with her hands.

"Oh, for crying out loud..." the black cat sighed.

"Oh yeah! Meet the cats!" Usagi chimed in.

"Ahem... I am Luna." the black one said.

"And I am Artemis! Nice to meet you!" the white one said.

"My name is Diana!" The kitten chirped.

"Excellent... I trust you three have heard about me?" I asked with a smile.

"Oh yes... Usagi tells us all about your antics with Minako and Makoto! You also like to breakdance, eh? What a strange fellow you are!" Luna said with a look of scorn.

I jumped to my feet and glared at Usagi while saying "What exactly have you been telling people about me?"

I felt Luna climb my cloak and crawl onto my shoulder and say sweetly "Oh, she says lots more... she said you have a huge crush on Makoto but won't admit it! She also says that you are weird and creepy at times..."

"WHAT! I shall not suffer my name to be dragged through the mud!" I shouted indignantly.

"Come my worthy feline ally! Let us rain punishment upon this base spouter of vile untruths!" I said further as I set Luna down and glared in Usagi's direction.

Usagi, looking confused and terrified, screamed and ran away as only she could. She dashed in a manner that would probably win a gold medal at the Olympics... I simply stood and smiled while waving at her vanishing form.

"You are certainly odd..." Luna cracked.

"Really now? Odd is much too harsh a word... I prefer the term eccentric!" I countered as I gave a thumbs up to Makoto.

I heard a moan behind me and the sounds of someone rising from the dirt. It was Haruka supported by Michiru and Rei! All of a sudden I felt my happiness replaced by a flood of guilt as I saw Haruka trembling while being held up.

"You really knocked me around!" Haruka said in surprise.

"This is the first time a guy has knocked ME around! I have fought guys in my day, but never anyone like you! And maybe I deserved some of it because I baited you so ruthlessly... you are no ordinary guy!" she continued while giving a thumbs up.

"Sorry about that... I could not stop Shinigami in time..." I said while lowering my gaze to the ground.

"Speaking of which... how DID you come across this power?" Ami asked.

"Shinigami? I honestly do not know... somehow I always felt much more powerful when I was infuriated... it started when I was six years old..." I answered.

"Just like Shinigami said..." Ami mused.

Suddenly, the area darkened as a hologram of a woman with gray odangoes appeared before us. It was Queen Serenity, or rather her hologram!

"I know of the origin of Shinigami..." she said.

Everyone stopped and faced her as she began to speak.

"Around the time of my kingdom, there was a legendary warrior of the Dark Kingdom named The Dark Cavalier. He was a man with such bloodlust that he eliminated entire towns on Queen Beryl's orders... within a year of his appearance 24 of my cities had been wiped out and all inhabitants slaughtered. Since we had no real army save the princesses of the allied planets, he raged across my kingdom virtually unchecked. Only Princess Uranus and Princess Jupiter had the fighting ability to force him to retreat... but one day, his attacks stopped entirely."

"Why was that?" asked Ami.

"One day, he appeared before me and asked to be accepted into my kingdom. He said he had grown ashamed of slaying peaceful villages for the pleasure of Queen Beryl and wished to fight on my behalf to make restitution. I hesitated for a bit, but the sincere look on his face swayed me in the end. From that day forth, he became a loyal warrior on my behalf... he was truly a worthy man."

"And... what did he do from there?" asked Rei.

"He married one of my handmaidens, a woman by the name of Gloria. He vowed to me that his child would be dedicated to the service of good. And together they had a son... the lad you see standing before you!" Queen Serenity said as she pointed at me.

Recognizing the name, I felt my mind go back to an era long past... an era where I was no mere boy. I was the son of The Dark Cavalier, a man who struck terror in the hearts of many on Earth and in the Moon Kingdom!
I realized that I was not alone as everyone gazed at me, as if trying to remember me from their past lives.

"Yes... they had a son who they trained in the arts of darkness and light. But he had something more. His father had the ability to transform into a personification of death called Shinigami. This trait was passed onto him and manifested when the boy turned six years old. In a manner of speaking, The Dark Cavalier's penance could be a mixed blessing... he has the power to become angel or demon." Queen Serenity spoke with a trace of sadness.

"How did Jordan's life go from the beginning?" Setsuna inquired.

"It was surprisingly easy. Though he was trained in all of the martial arts his father knew, his mother also instructed him in the art of healing and compassion.
His father gave him the drive to be utterly ruthless to his enemies, but his mother gave him the power to be kind. After teaching all of his skills and abilities to him, Jordan's father came to me to be purified... I did so, and the Dark Cavalier was no more. However, his legacy rested within his son, and I knew not what course the son would take." the Queen replied.

I felt a familiar presence as I saw a man with blue eyes, brown hair and a muscular build clad in blue armor training a boy with blond hair, a slim build, and blue eyes with a sword. Then I sat beside a woman with blond hair, hazel eyes, and a slim build as she taught me all manner of healing spells, barriers, and defensive magic. Then the memories came back to me... I was the one being trained! I also saw images of the time I turned 16. When I had reached 12 in my past life, my father gave me the blue armor he had been using as well as advice to go to Earth and serve its prince.

The night before I was to leave, a band of Dark Kingdom assassins sneaked into my home and killed my parents. I woke up to hear laughing and walked into the room without my armor on. Eight red figures with black armor and blue scarves held serrated daggers drenched in the blood of my parents, and one of them turned to me.

"Who's this whelp?" He said.

"Who cares? Let's stab him! We don't need any witnesses to our work!" replied another.

"Yeah! Queen Beryl has exacted her revenge on The Dark Cavalier! But we can have a little fun with this kid!" another one shouted.

"YEAH!" the cry went up in unison. At once, they surrounded me and started swinging their blades, but I dodged them. However, I caught sight of my mother's bloody body and paused a second too long. I felt my right shoulder be punctured by an assassin's blade, and I hit a wall with my back and slumped into a sitting position. I felt blood running from my shoulder and ooze into my left hand as I watched the eight assassins approach me, brandishing their short swords.

"Let's finish the job! Make him squeal like a pig!" One advised the closest one to me.

"We're gonna enjoy this..." the creature said as his cohorts started to laugh.

Feeling a dark presence within my body take over my mind, I shouted "I WILL HAVE THE LAST LAUGH, MORTAL FOOLS!" I felt my wound heal and the bleeding stop, then the blood in my left fist solidified and became a spear. Impaling one on my spear of blood, I stabbed it into a wall and heard the creature scream in agony as it struggled to pull itself free. Grabbing his short sword from the ground, I stabbed it between the eyes and turned to his horrified companions.

One lunged at me with his blade, but I dodged and broke his arm, then grabbed his blade and stabbed him through the heart. As he slumped to the ground, I grabbed a third by the neck and broke it with a squeeze and tossed his body into a fourth. I simply punched it in the face and saw its head disintegrate into a multitude of bloody fragments. The others screamed and tried to escape, but the slaughter continued unabated. A fifth fell victim to a sword lobbed through its chest.

I grabbed the sixth by the left arm, threw it into a wall, and slammed its head against the tile floor until I head a sickening CRUNCH. The seventh had bowed before me and said "Have mercy on us! Queen Beryl sent us to do it! Let us live!"

"YOU PATHETIC DOG... NEVER!" came the response as I grabbed my father's broadsword and decapitated him. The eighth assassin stabbed me in the hand as I lifted him above my head, but I felt nothing as I grabbed an arm and a leg and started to pull. With a surge of strength, I pulled him apart as I shouted "FOOLS!" at the top of my lungs. My bloody revenge completed, I dropped my father's broadsword and went to look at my fallen parents. For the first time in my life, I remembered crying...

"You remember it now, do you not?" Queen Serenity asked me.

"Yes... all too well..." I replied.

My mind then turned to the burial of my parents and putting my father's massive broadsword, which he had named Penance, in his casket. I felt an unknown sadness... though I had vanquished their killers, I had yet to finish my business with Queen Beryl.

"One day, when I have become much stronger, I will defeat this dark queen and avenge both of you!" I vowed.

My cloak blowing in the wind, I headed for Earth to heed my father's advice. Taking the nearest teleport bay, I arrived on Earth in five seconds, in a massive city named Marseille, France. Upon exiting the teleport bay, I accidentally bumped into a tall, black-haired lad clad in armor who looked to be about my age. Not long after I ran into the boy, four uniformed people simultaneously drew sabers and held them to my neck! Looking at them slowly, I saw three men and a woman.

"What is your business here?" a white-haired man said.

"Have you come to overthrow the monarchy?" asked a blond-haired man.

"Not at all!" I said while raising my hands.

"If you come in peace, why do you wear that blue armor?" a brown-haired man asked next.

"It is a gift from my deceased father..." I replied while looking him in the eyes.

"A mere gift from your father? With that armor, you look more like a warrior!" declared the woman among the group.

"Hold on, my companions. He means no harm..." the black-haired boy said. The four visibly relaxed and put away their blades. Wiping the sweat from my forehead, I tried to resume normal breathing as the danger passed.

"Hello. Care to follow me to my home?" the lad asked. In no state of mind to refuse, I agreed. I followed the group from the bustling city into a bucolic retreat in the hillside, a place resplendent with wooden fences, grazing sheep, and shepherds clothed in simple garments and equipped with canes. Walking through the countryside, the four people I had met earlier were constantly scanning the area, looking for any threats that might appear. Something seemed amiss about the whole situation: why would four uniformed people bother to escort a boy clad in armor everywhere he went?

"He seems capable of defending himself quite well with the quality of the armor he is wearing..." I thought.

Looking at his waist, I noticed what appeared to be a broadsword dangling at his side. It was a double-edged blade with a design similar to that of Penance... in fact, it could have easily passed for a smaller version of my father's sword! My mind turned to the mystery of who the creator was when the boy announced succinctly "We're here."

Standing before me was no mere house, but a villa the ancient Romans would have been familiar with! Columns supported the roof and symbols of Justice adorned the roof, giving the place the impression of a temple instead of a country home. I walked in behind the boy, followed closely by the four I had taken to be his guardians. Was he the prince I had been seeking?

Just as I had moved to ask him, he started speaking.

"I much prefer this villa to my castle in Quebec, Canada. I prefer the verdant beauty of a pasture tended by shepherds to a vast expanse of snow. Regardless of where I am, I enjoy looking at the moon, especially a full one. Royal splendor is good and well, but sometimes I prefer a simpler life away from the burden of a backwater monarchy. Perhaps that is why I am called Prince Endymion..."

Barely concealing the surprise on my face, I remembered my father's advice: I was to serve the Prince of Earth and one day return to the Moon Kingdom to fulfill my father's promise to Queen Serenity. Nervously stepping forward, I ventured to speak to the Prince.

"Prince Endymion, I have been advised to offer my services to you." I said slowly.

"Really? On whose advice?" He asked in return.

"My father's..." came the response.

"And who is your father, might I ask?" the Prince asked in a voice full of curiosity.

Hesitating long enough to take a deep breath, I asked "...Are you familiar with The Dark Cavalier?"

One could have heard a pin drop after I delivered my response. Looking all around me, the four guardians were aghast, as if my father had come to visit ruin upon them. Prince Endymion was horrified as well, but then seemed to recover. However, the white-haired guardian was not so quick to regain stability.

"You're the son of the Dark Cavalier? THE Dark Cavalier?!" he asked.

"Indeed. I try not to make that fact public, but I am his son." came my response.

The brown-haired guardian spoke next. He stated in a calmer voice "I heard your family had been killed by Dark Kingdom assassins. I thought there were no survivors..."

"Reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated..." I responded.

"Interesting..." said Prince Endymion. "The Dark Cavalier was purified by Queen Serenity, but I never knew he had passed on his skills. I never knew he had a son."

Seeming flustered, the blond-haired male drew his blade and ran towards me while shouting "Come at me, you mongrel! I shall exact vengeance for what your father did to my home!"

"Take this..." the white-haired man said as he tossed me his blade. Grabbing hold of it, I whirled it around my head and then dodged my assailant's thrust. As he came around for a second attack, he became even more irritated. He gripped his blade tighter, as if his grip would make his next attack more powerful... I knew better. Simply waiting until he charged me, I sidestepped the attack, performed a leg sweep, and held my blade at the fallen man's chest before he could even grip his saber again.

"The son will not pay for the sins of the father. He changed in his last days..." I said.

"Your kind never changes! All you do is go underground, then you emerge again when the opportunity arises! You are a blight..." he said with utter contempt.

I cut him off with a swift stomp to the stomach. In an instant, he deflated and rolled about in pain. The white-haired man looked surprised as I handed him his blade and looked at Prince Endymion.

"Excellent work. You just defeated Jedite, one of my guardians. Now I shall introduce you to the others."

The white-haired man stepped forward and said "My name is Malachite. I am the leader of the Shittenou."

"I am Zoicite." the woman said while smiling at me.

"I am called Nephrite." the brown-haired guardian said.

"...Good show, son of The Dark Cavalier. I am Jedite..." the blond-haired man I had just defeated said.

I simply crossed my arms and stared at him. After his venomous words, I was not about to entirely trust him. However, Prince Endymion beckoned me to shake his hand, and I did so with reluctance.

"Very well. I need someone to be my bodyguard while I attend functions on Earth and in the Moon Kingdom. Since my four generals are usually busy protecting the corners of my kingdom, you, Son of The Dark Cavalier, will do quite well. What shall I call you?"

Thinking of my fallen family, I said "Jordan... call me Jordan..."

The mental conversation then ended as I came back to the present. I was not alone, for the others were staring at me... it was an uncomfortable sensation, but nothing that could (or would) kill me. Feeling a renewed sense of strength, I simply waited for a response as my mind felt calmer than it had in a long while.

"An interesting development, to say the least..." said Ami.

"I never knew that back in the days of the Moon Kingdom..." mused Haruka.

"Exactly. I was a clandestine weapons program of sorts. Since my father had wreaked so much havoc at the command of Queen Beryl, Queen Serenity decided it was best to keep my existence secret." I said while clenching my right hand into a fist.

"But why would the Moon Kingdom need a hidden weapon? I thought the Princess's Guardians were enough!" Darien ventured.

"I was the result of an oath my father made to Queen Serenity. He pledged that he would fight for good, and that his child would be in her service." I replied.

"But how did you gain such extraordinary skill with a sword? I thought he was purified by my mother!" Usagi shouted while pointing her finger at me.

"My father passed down the considerable knowledge of the martial skills he possessed to me before purification... and he gave me an ace in the hole..." I added.

"You mean... you were born with Shinigami inside of you?!? Minako asked.

"Exactly. Shinigami manifested itself when I turned six years old, but I never gained its power until my parents were killed at the hands of the assassins. At that moment, I felt an ancient evil take control and enhance all of my abilities, but at the expense of my ability to discern friend from foe. It was fortunate that no one else entered my house that night..." I explained.

"You were born with an unholy gift. You can easily surpass anything alive in combat ability, but you lose the power to tell friend from foe. Perhaps that is why you were such a formidable warrior back in the days of the Moon Kingdom..." Michiru muttered.

"It is not so bad. Life is cheap... especially mine." I said as I looked her dead in the eyes.

Watching her visibly flinch and shudder, I heard Darien ask me a question. I could barely make it out while I was looking at Michiru, but when I turned to him, it was clear.

"Do you intend to kill yourself?" he asked.

"That is the last thing I would do! I have my father's oath to fulfill!" I snapped back.

"An oath? How would you fulfill it if you consider yourself expendable?" Setsuna asked with a concerned expression.

"I am the son of the fabled Dark Cavalier. Even though he served the wrong cause for most of his life, I exist to redeem him. He gave an oath I fully intend to fulfill. If I die in keeping his word, then so be it..." I said.

"How can someone do that? How can someone throw away their life redeeming their father's evil deeds?" Makoto asked me.

"It is simple. Everyone's life is more valuable than mine... I figure if I serve the Queen's daughter and protect her allies, I will keep his word somehow..." came my reply.

"Kind of simplistic..." Rei chided.

Looking at her with compassion instead of annoyance, I answered "Yes, but right now it is the only way I know how."

"Are you crazy? The son cannot hope to pay for the sins of the father!" Ami said.

"Perhaps that it so, but I require further proof than mere words..." I remarked.

I heard footsteps trotting up to me. Then I felt a tug on my cloak. I turned around and saw a blurry outline of Hotaru holding my glasses. Reaching for them, I wiped my face off and returned my glasses to my face. Thanking her, I turned to everyone and spoke:

"I must admit, meeting all of you was not part of my plan, but perhaps it was for the best that I did. Instead of walking the Earth alone, I have ten capable people to call friends."

Turning to Rei, I said: "We may have our differences, but I still consider you a worthy friend. Besides, you are quite humorous at times..." I simply ended my sentence and smiled.

"Turning to Haruka, I said: "When I first met you, I had a feeling that we would one day engage in battle. I admit that it was lopsided, but maybe tonight will be the last time we clash. Like dear Rei, you can be quite amusing... remember when we chased Usagi after she hinted we were attracted to each other?"

Usagi started to laugh nervously while Haruka walked over to me and stood in place.

"Are we... AAAACK!" I sputtered as Haruka tackled me. She then took my head in her hands like she was going to beat it against the ground, then she simply grinned as she said "Yeah... we're cool. I can't wait to test your sword skills!" she said as she got off of me and walked towards Michiru.

I said nothing, but simply sat and stared at her. Minako and Usagi laughed, Setsuna and Ami smiled, and the others had a look that suggested someone had given them castor oil.

"...That was awkward..." added Luna.

"I agree wholeheartedly, my feline friend." I said while staring blankly at Haruka.

Makoto marched over to me, physically picked me up, and said "Keep your eyes on me! I'm the one you should be staring at right now!"

"Ah, oui, ma belle Makoto!" I said with a smile.

"What does that mean?" she asked.

"Nothing... just meaningless words in French..." I slyly answered.

Minako and Ami were in on my secret, so the three of us simply laughed as Makoto slapped me on the shoulder and nearly knocked me down.

"Anyway... let's go eat somewhere! I think we can still grab some hamburgers!" Usagi crowed.

"Always thinking with your stomach..." Rei scolded.

We all laughed at Usagi's expense as we left to get a meal on the town.

Another spell binding chapter, Jordan. I really like the mixture of yin and yang in your character and his 'hidden' love of Makoto-sama ^_^ Only thing that bothered me a bit was that you use the English dubbed version of Endymion's four generals yet you use the Japanese version for all the other names. Why is that? Do you simply like their English versions better or do you not know their Japanese selves? Anyway all in all another great work, I hope to be able to read more of your adventures soon ^_^

Very good, Jordan! The Shinigami is finally reviled! Although, you still left a mystery: the Shinigami's original creation. Was it incarnated with in the Dark Cavalier or has in been in your bloodline a while? Perhaps Shinihami was once a being like Beryl too, but killed than awoke in your father? You made it sound like Shinigami was it's own entity, so there's my ramblings...

My grammar picks, are that you forgot those darn caps again! Although I'm almost used to it, I still suggest you use HTML...and watch those ending tags, Jordan-kun! As you can see, the last chunk of the story is in bold. Also, Zoicite is female now? You knew I was going to be a wise-ass in that...pity there aren't any cabbages growing Endymion's villa, as you called it... I doubt either of us will ever be able to think of Darien again without cabbages coming to mind at the same time.

Ahhh, nothing like chatting and commenting! Comments get very long this way... Back on the topic of the story line, you've got a nice twist going on here. I'm glad you took my advice on a few of the ideas. :) Anyway, best I get going! Great work, keep it up!

A wonderful addition to a wonderful book! The part after Jordan finds out about Shinigami was especially great!

Some of the things I liked most in this chapter were the conversations between the characters. The parts with Setsuna and Haruka were particularly amusing! And where Usagi comes in, that was probably the funniest part.

Hmm, Jordan sure seems to enjoy the notion of 10 beautiful girls all fighting over him! And we all thought he was a refined gentlemen of the Moon Court, albeit somewhat violent when in an uncontrolled state. :D

I like the idea of memories hidden, then resurfacing with a memorable event. That kind of thing should happen in StarDoc, although I do admit I think it'd be for the best if Jarn stayed. Although I do miss Cherijo's appalling humor. Eh, I'm getting way ahead of myself!

Your sentence structuring, your word choice, and your spelling/grammar; all were perfect! Your sophisticated ways of speaking/writing as well. How'd you learn to talk like that? Me i-self can'ts talks too wells! :D Haley made that up.

:D What a fantastic write! Eh, as Haley would say, Fantabulous!!

Why am I quoting Haley all of a sudden?
