Dragon Skies

Ride now the Dragon Skies
In all of wonder, upon a
Magick dragon's back with
Fair maiden in your arms.

Let doves of love surround
And hummingbird with
Nectared flower invite a
Gentle kiss upon her lips.

Valiant dragon soaring high,
Wing beats lifting to the skies
Above the clouds and cares
Of mortal man below.

Hear rumbling roar so great
The stars do cower with
Dragon's passage high, through
Time and Space, itself.

Scaly scales smooth to
Touch and warming heat from
Dragon fire within the
Cavern of his mighty light.

Call an angel faerie forth
That she may ride upon
This magick wonder, too
And give her faerie's love

To the embracing lovers
As they ride the Dragon Skies
And see the wonders,
Magick orbs of light

And those of sound of
Music sent by Pixie
Down below, as gift of
Pleasure nothing more.

Higher, still, into the night
The mighty wings beat
Ever strong as roar of fire
Bursts overhead like

Molten crystals do they form
And gift the magick pair
That dare to ride a dragon's
Back of green and gold.

With magick sheen and
Fearsome eye of steely red
Wing beats beating into
The Dragon Skies.

This write was edited to remove a word, "to" that had been repeated twice, accidentally. Nothing else was changed.

Very fairytale-like. Dragons are marvelous creatures, indeed. I love the way how you intetionally spelled Magick. I believe that is Old English? If not, it still seems to be medieval, perfect for poems like this. Mr. Fields, you give the impression that you mastered the way to use imagery, for you wove it so well into this poem.

Another great piece, Bravo!

This brings back vivid memories of pictures in my mind while I read fantasy stories about dragons and princesses, fairies and ogres. I went through a phase when it was my favorite kind of story to read.

The imagery and flow of this piece is wonderful. I look forward to reading more from you!

This is one of my dabbles in fantasy, named "Fantasy" of course!:

Wow, This really good. I liked how not every sentence end just so it could be on that line. I have a bad habit of doning that with my poems, I have to the words just right so I can have a comma or period. To me, it didn't really seem to be about the dragon. To me it seemed to be about two people in love and they were meant for each other. Talk to you later.

I doff my hat to you, sir! You've put together a truly rhytmic free verse fantasy that's simply, swee fantastic! The word pictures, the movement, the emotional content--all in all a terrific piece. Welcome aboard!

Well first of all I love it. Second of all I love it. and third of all is magic supposed to spelled that way? i thought it was magic not magikc. Anyway i love fantasy so this gets a definite five from me. I love your details, they are so beautiful. Some of my favorite book series consist of the Inheritance Trilogy (eragon and eldest so far) and Harry Potter and dragon riders. This was wonderful especially since I love dragons. I think if we had dragons it would be way cooler than cars. This was so awesome I love it. And ya that is it, keep up the spectacular work.

FOUR POINTS!? Only FOUR points from some past readers?! Oh my goodness. If I could, I'd give you a kagillion points. Simply one of the best poems I've ever read! The images, the way the verses were formed, the story line... magical. Wonderful. Mystical. Beautiful. I've always had a soft spot for fairy tales ^-^
