In love's cold-hearted ambience
Dead man's party rising, warm destiny disappears
Working wolf-packs snarling in the lost-cause light

Clock in or deal with happenstance
Being unemployed makes life austere
acomplishments are drifting in dark horizon’s sulfite
I've read and dreamed of Irish gold
a new-found thought in question marks
no story-line I wouldn't dare

but Inspiration's ashey cold
imagination lacking sparks
Devil wants to chitchat, no embered words to spare

The outside world is oddly bathed
in the scent of rain-drenched roses
but my well of thoughts spit bone-dry sand

My bleeding wrists are crying slaves
lipsynch lyrics mouthed in concrete prose
Muse Desiree' wields the upper hand

Her pherenomes are salty-scented
infused with phobic perspiration
sweating upper lip attracting dripping fantasies

Dangerous and decadent
It's hard to catch her idle phrases
As I stare at Grey's Anatomy

Her mind a murky swampland set as gospel truth
a Kaleidoscope of burning promises gone astray
hardcore sins scream pleasure, running rampant in my veins

Just a choking splash of gin's vermouth
Atom bombs that gossip, rant, and rave
white innocence a mirror set to black domains

I slip the dreaded tie that binds
and head down to McKinzie Road
It's there she instigates my writer's brain

articulates what comes to mind
her backbone firms to overload
Her terms addiction-laced codiene

Cameras flash in darkened corners
the stench of blackmail mounting
pills and razors fill my pumping lifeline

My smiling byline won't be shopworn
I'll keep the rolling headcount
innuendos flying fuel the suicidal pipeline

Eyes widen at square cellophane
fine powder blow, sweet Crystalline
purchased truth is heated, guilt remotely shimmering

Compelled, I shoot 'espresso jain'
my soul is cocaine-lined
Sodom and Gomorrah livin' large, co-hosts at Bar Cathleen

Wow! Nancy, I really like this piece because of all the cool images it conjurs forth but I haven't a clue what it means. I write stuff like that too, where the symbolism is known only to me...but you've peaked my curiosity to the utmost here with this one. If you could explain what it's all about I would be forever grateful. All I know is it evoked powerful emotions and perhaps that's your goal. IF there's a story too, so much the better.

This is an interesting write, but I wish I knew what was going on. But then, maybe that's none of my business, and only privy to the writer.
