Weather Raging

by David Pekrul

Age Rating: 10 +

Ever over, ever under,
Flash of light and sound of thunder,
Hail like marbles, freezing drizzle,
Ice you can't break with a chisel.

Funnel clouds and winds a-whistling,
People quiet, people listening,
Weather raging, never stopping,
In the alleys, street lights popping.

Rivers rising, towns are flooding,
Trees are freezing, never budding,
Deserts growing, people starving,
Global warming we are carving.

Weather raging and destroying,
Calmness we're no more enjoying,
Wild Fires ever spreading,
And each day we're more than dreading.

Violent weather, only starting,
Weathermen are always charting,
Looking for a bright tomorrow,
All they find is pain and sorrow.

Look ahead and see what's coming,
What you see is more than numbing,
More bad weather in the forecast,
Midnight hour, now it's half past.
