I Don't Remember

Although I don't remember all the things you say to me,
And even though I am so often told,
And though I make you angry, so you want to yell and scream,
I hate the feeling when you have to scold.

I know it makes you weary when you oft' repeat yourself,
And wish that I would finally start to hear,
And though it seems that all I do is think of just myself,
Please know that I adore and love you, Dear.

For you are all my hopes and dreams, the one for which I live,
Without you I am nothing but a shell,
I love you more than life itself and all for you I'd give,
I love you more than I could start to tell.

So please forgive me for the times I hear not what you say,
I listen but it oft' escapes my mind,
I'll try to listen closer and much more attention pay,
So please be gentle when you must remind.
