Separate Ways
by Leah G. (Age: 15)
copyright 04-17-2007

Age Rating: 7 to 127

We were best friends, best there could be
We were best friends, yes you and me
But time went on and passed many days
Then we had to go our separate ways

We had our fun; we knew it well
We shared secrets- sworn to not tell
The times we had, so many days
Before we had to go our separate ways

It came too quick, I couldn’t go
Yet we must, you couldn’t say no
I cried and cried for many days
Because we had to go our separate ways

We said our goodbyes, vowed to see
If we could stay how we wanted to be
We remembered all of our good and bad days
When we went our separate ways

I felt so bad, I vowed not to look back
My days turned dull and the skies were black
I could not change the fate of our days
After we went our separate ways

That was really good. You rhymed well(much better that I could! The best I can think of is dead and head), but like Leigh said, they were kind of repetitive. But overall, I liked it, and you're a very good poet.
