I recently came across this piece I wrote quite awhile ago.
Emotion clouds the mind between
Two spirits intertwined, and free
To burden those with which we share
Our love, our pain, our disrepair.
Entropic thoughts flow through the head
Of deeds misdone and words we've said,
The words by which we rise and fall,
They tear us down and build a wall
Whose presence rends the mind in two,
Reminding of the bond we knew.
For that which holds can also bend,
And when it breaks, we’ll never mend
The ties of love, our bond of trust,
This schism between the two of us.
