"You know what is in room 101, Winston. Everyone knows what is in Room 101. The worst thing in the world."
An interesting take on the famous Room 101 of Orwell's 1984. Jean Paul Sartre said that hell was other people. C.S. Lewis felt that hell was your self. This poem / Song Lyric (?) seems to go with the latter, if only by accident. Or perhaps there is something of both in this. The self that finds itself so tortured is a deceived self, and that suggests others have had a hand in it, and the 'amor propre' that Sartre thought so dangerous might be the reason.
Greg: Unfair! You've got us all guessing about Room 101, but you gave no answer. Jail? Psycho Ward? First year History at college? I will say it is the can. Most people say "what am I doin' in here? I didn't do nuthin!". Hey, this is a good poem. It's making us all think about it. Thanks! Dale
Walls that confine, don't pay me no mind.
i think that is improper
and i think i saw more errors, but I am still young and uncertain.
there where so many possibilies to thsi poem, i liek how you leave so many ussumptions and possibilities to the room, your descriptio nwas good, but i think there couldve been more desribing the room instead of questioning why you where there. then again if you where so worried abotu what was going on you wouldnt notice much, maybe a few details
over all very good piece, there is just that one error i saw, which may not even be an error you might want it purposely
