One Foolish Moment
by Everett (dale) Pogue
copyright 10-07-2007

Age Rating: 16 to 127

He poked his reeling head into the sack again
inhaling each tiny microbe to the brain.
The idling engine cried to be loosened with all it's
throbbing power.
A black-topped road shouted "More! More!"
It topped the hill and raced towards a valley
with only a pokey van in sight.
The small letters on it's side; Sunnyland Nursing Home.We Care For You.
Swerving, but too late, the truck and van lock together in a death struggle.
Over and over the van rolls finally braked by a long-dead tree hosting wires from it's cross.
Flames burst into the sky. Two people quickly die.
A third would cry, "Dear God, help me!"
A fourth would stare and see his world is now no longer free.
He staggers to his wounded steed and frantically
searches for the seed that caused this awful deed.
"And how does your defendant plead?"
