Bright Weavings

by Tiffany Forster (Age: 26)

[A/N: Dedicated to Richard Reed Jr, from who I stole the format and admire deeply. Thanks darling.]

Fading red embers

The sun’s last remains
the Bright King’s final moments
swallowed by the dark hills

clawing at the dying sky

Blades of purple light
slipping past the sleeping stars
one final attempt

to make bright weavings

Faint fragments sparring
obsidian and gold clash
as the day gives way

Night’s chill seeping in

Twilight then settles
graceful and ephemeral
amidst the havoc

tangling so desperately

Shadows start to stir
while the moon climbs in her arms
steadily growing

in Twilight’s embrace

Her cascading hair
made of sapphires and stars
blur the moments edge

Pinpricks of memory

Scattered and shattered
like diamonds on silk, echoes
of forgotten gods

waking from their deadened sleep

Weave through her fingers
casting an eerie cool glow
on those who may watch

as they paint Twilight

Revised! Haha, I got bored... yay me?
