Beyond Myself
by Roger Crique (Age: 51)
copyright 10-21-2007

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Pondering the makeshift dome
Starry-eyed upon the night
Gazing up beyond my home
Up for grabs till morning light

Folded under arms my head
Sleeping angels up above
Someone out there breaking bread
Watching over us with love

Oh, alone you say I am?
All this time wasted on me?
Fool- hearted egocentric man
Selfish child is quite asleep

Dream I say forever more
Of golden chariots in the sky
For rainbows arc beyond your eyes
Of colors true where light is dim

Dream I say forever more
For children know what grown-ups fear
Perhaps away‘s a pot of gold
Where old is now
And time is cheer

Roger,

This is such a terrific poem, and the line(s) which sticks out to me the most are:

"Someone out there breaking bread
Watching over us with love"

I think the whole poem can be summed in these two lines; that indeed there is someone so much greater than ourselves who is interceding for us, and forever watching over us, and many call HIM

Savior, Abba, Christ, Jehovah

thank you for this,

Misty

My Comments Written in Time-line of Events
curtain opens as Debbie sits down at her computer to put it in 'nite-nite mode'. Avatar and messenger status is 'sweet dreams'.
Opens to read a poem or two. Sees Roger has a new poem posted.. hmm... it's been awhile... let's see.
Beautiful..hypnotic rhythm.. tries to form a comment...thinks perhaps first stanza refers to... aww.. lets not bring it to reality.. eyes begin to close. Reads again to try again. Lullabye.. heavenly.. beautiful... sweet. Thoughts of my 'Man vs God' contest poem.. 'paths of gold and jasper stones' comes to mind here and there.. lovely images. Lullabye...plays as music in my head. Have to lay down or sleep on my desk. (wink) goodnight...

I feel closer to being ready for my heavenly home... I'll see you there some glad morning.

Good to read you here again. I am sure I am speaking for us all in saying welcome back.

It is with the heart of a child, so well said, and eyes are open to heaven and earth, gift of both, a grace upon my ears and a report for my mind, triggers flow and image is as warm s the words.. Walt
