How incomprehensibly, impossibly difficult it is to say goodbye
When you know that this goodbye is for the rest of your life
When you’re saying goodbye too soon to your father
Your rock, your strength, your adviser, your hope
The one person you knew understood you, loves you
Even years later, the intense pain of grief stops you
The cold grip catching your heart out of place
And refusing it reentry to its proper home in your chest
The tears of sorrow burning hot trails down your face
I will never forget you, your wisdom, your compassion
As long as I live, you live within me, every beat of my heart
And I will cling to the joy we shared in your life
To carry me through the impossible grief of your death

Deeply touching, and very well written. What a tragedy to die so young, but what an honor and a legacy he leaves behind that his own should pay him such a tribute.
Heather: This is a touching tribute to one deeply loved. Time is the great healer of heartbreak. The scar will always remain, as it should. It is far better to be in pain for one loved than to be in pain for one not so loved. I am glad you chose to pen this beautiful eulogy. dale
A heart pricked, a pure love bleeds to the page, so perfect the emotion, shared in remembrance, as life is but a gift given to be shared, so is love, and in love death is but a small stop, a journey to remember for the years we hold and share, Walt
