Ilusion of Life

by Raven Nixon (Age: 27)
copyright 11-23-2007

Age Rating: 13 +

on her face she bears a mask that gives the illusion
you know her she wears it day to day
never faltering in her determination to hide
away from the world

a fragile web she weaves with her words
allowing you to think you are friends she hugs you
smiling warmly and hiding the cold deep inside
away from the world

with her sweet smile she enchants and charms
your love as she leans in close to whisper in your ear
those saccharine secrets mean nothing she hides
away from the world

one day the mask, the web, the charms will break
she will lie before you naked and unarmed
she will be left with no place to hide
away from the world
