Get away from me
Leave me alone
Touch me and I'll break
Every last of your bones
Run as far as you can
Don't look back and cry
I hate all that is in this world
I'm tired of the lies
I cannot stand to walk around
My feet refuse to bleed
All the haterd in the ground
My blackened heart has no need
To feel the love you throw my way
To celebrate another day
Get away from me
Leave me alone
Touch me and I'll break
Every last of your bones

You've captured the feelings of a person who has been hurt and wants to run and hide. That's a hard thing to do, Bev. Most folks can't get that deep into an emotion that we prefer to ignore. Nicely done. Jackie
What I found really neat was the sentence break at "Touch me and I'll break" which had me thinking "here's a brittle soul". But *then* you hit us with "every last of your bones"--which is of course, quite the opposite! Talk about a one-two punch!
Thanks for the comments, Sunny, David and John. I tend to be a very straight forward person in life, David and I guess it came through in this poem. Sunny, you may duck but you can't hide **g** Just jokin'! John, I'm not sure where this poem came from. It came, I wrote and here it is. I'm not sure why...so your explanation makes perfect sense. And I'm sure there could be other reasons too. All in how you read it, I suppose.
Hiya Bev, I am glad that I am not on the recieving end of your angry words.
Would I be right in saying that this one is about someone who did love someone but was decieved in some way? It sounds to me like this, I can almost see a short play beforehand and this is the ending speech of the one who has been decieved.
Then again I don't call myself mad for nothing, I guess I am barking up the wrong tree, whichever it is I liked this a lot, in fact I LOVED it.
