Winter's Kiss
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)
copyright 01-04-2008

Age Rating: 13 to 127

It was a mix
In amber fix
Upon a satin sky

A dreamer kept
The linen fed
To a chrisom lie

Rest calm she said
As she lead him
In fruit of angel kiss

As fell a tear upon golden hair
The lovers lasting bliss

Young love sings to moon and night
Ramble on a somber view
Oh drift from faded light
My dear still sings at
Yonder the widow bright

Pretend that age is not a cast
Nor a running sound

For in the young man
The desire is strong

As age wears to mind
Beauty is more than skin deep
It is the kalong find

From bed to wed
In frolic or in haste
Never more can never wait

Body upon divide stands
Form and function
Does not define the man

Woman takes love and burns the soul
For when the age shows her heart does not know

And pleasure sent is desire went
From hot blood to stone

As she lead him
In fruit of angel kiss

As fell upon golden hair
The lovers lasting bliss

He in need of youth
Left standing there

When time marks the fire that is gone
A reminder well of summer to winters song

Life moves so fast and things change before our eyes. It's hard to see some of the changes. We just have to hold on and not forget where we are going! This was full of emotion and I feel a certain sorrow in the words, Anthony

Walt, this poem really strikes a note with me as I'm just days away from my 35th anniversary. Time goes by so fast, it's nice to have a reminder like this of changes we may not even realize are occurring.
