Without You

  Without You

The sky doesn't seem as bright,
The sun hardly makes any light.
Something is eating me up inside,
Maybe its the fact that you're not alive...

Walking around is almost impossible,
I feel like I'm the one responsible.
The world always seems so dead,
Whilst I see only you in my head.

The colors seemed to have fade.
The whole world is so decayed.
Now the seasons are all the same,
As I look at the stone that bears your name.

Why couldn't do more for you?
I'm sorry I didn't know what to do.
No more memories, they're done.
Life without you isn't fun.

Night seems so much more darker,
The day you made your departure.
I prayed and prayed every day,
But you were still taken away.

Its a selfish wish that I had,
I knew you were feeling bad,
I wanted you to stay here,
You dying was my worst fear.

The Lord gives and takes,
Maybe he did it for your sake...
I'm just going to have to wait,
I hope I see you at The Gate.

Until I see you again,
I love you.

That's so sad. I would feel so horrible if something happened to the one I love the most, the way you described the mood around you...it's so good. Thank you very much for sharing your creative work.

There is not one spelling mistake! That's really good. Sometimes I feel that way after I was told that Xena, my aunt and uncle's cat had to be "put asleep". Yeah, after that, I felt like I didn't care much about the library, or even riding my bike to and from the library.

But this poem reminds me of my Xena. I give a thumbs-up to you.

EXCELLENT. Things do seem to fade don't they when someone that colored our lives so brightly has to leave? Hang in there and things get better. There is a reason for everything!! Keep writing, it will help you get through.

4th stanza - just add an "I" before "do"

Yeah, wow this is awesome. For some reason it seems as though true talent can be clearly seen in poems about death. I know that sounds weird, but the passion is so evident that the poem just oozes it.

Dear Lauren!
You can't even know what a lovely poem you wrote!

"The Lord gives and takes,
Maybe he did it for your sake... "

So pure and deep lines! I adore this poem! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful work! Irina

Lauren,
This poem gave me juicebumps and made me cry it is really good. Your rhyming is right on the dot. Once again I love the truth in your work and I relate to it very much. Life is considered very complicated but no one realizes how much death can be. It is also very devastatingto all involved. This poem brings back a memory of a lost one but the beauty of your words helps me see it through another's eyes. This work has inspired me to write truthfully like you and even at your age you can still teach the world something. keep going with your writing it's only getting better. I believe that your work will inspire and teach others and hope it reaches far and wide. this is real poetry in motion wuite beautifuland serene but powerful at the same time.

Cecilia
