Divided We Fall; A Plea

We are divided. We're becoming more divided by terrorists who are achieving their goal by ripping a nation apart. Not through death. Not through battles. Not through even more destruction of public monuments and lives on American soil. But through controversy. Aiding in creating rifts, offering money to certain politicians, and helping to destroy the economy by a useless war. It is the idea of them, not their direct actions, that is destroying us. Controversies over how to handle the war. Our foreign policy. The growing divide between rich and poor. The teetering of our entire nation on the brink of a recession. It is dividing us as a country. Destroying us as people. Slaughtering our dreams and our hopes and decimating the chances of many children for a brighter future. This war is killing mothers, fathers. Sisters and brothers. Sons and daughters. The economy is crumpling, stealing homes and leaving people stuck in desperation.
If we hope to stand, and not to fall, we must come together. The future of America is not a guaranteed existence. Our destruction is a very possible thing. It is only through unity that we will remain. We must bring ourselves together and take an active role in our futures, not for our own good, but for the good of all Americans. It is not just us that sees the slow and crumpling state of affairs. It is the rest of the world. They see the division in our politics and even they have begun to realize that it is this rift that is tearing us apart.
So no matter who you vote for, who you support, or what party you subscribe to, let us all make an oath. That this upcoming presidency will be one of unity. That we will agree to work together. That no matter our profession--from homemaker, to grocery clerk, to CEO, to student--we will stand together for a brighter tomorrow. Because this country is worth fighting for. Because our futures are worth fighting for. And because together, we can affect a change.
Because as a great man once said, a house divided cannot stand. But in unity we will prevail.

Your write suggests that you are not only aware of what is happening around to the minutest of detail but also very observant of the causes or roots which have brought this chaotic state.
I commend your wisdom and hope that you will share more with us.
Thanks
Bless you

I really enjoyed your voice in this work. I see it as a speech being recited from the platform of a high stage. I do agree with what you said on many things, especially being divided among the rich and the poor. If communities would come together, the wealthy communities aiding the less wealthy, and the skilful working with the unskillful, this country could achieve much. But we all first need to deal with differences in our backgrounds that stop many people from unifying each other. As a Great Teacher said, "Love your neighbor as yourself", this one principle would change all manner of thinking and all behaviors associated with it. Excellent work!!!!

This is one of the best analysis of our current situation that I have read in print -- anywhere. The real war is psychological, and the waste of resources is real. But we are not just divided on this one issue; there are others. Abortion, immigration, and of course, race are just a few. Let's hope we get a leader who can soften the rhetoric, say what he means, and mean what he says.
