A Valentine Sketch
by Richard Reed Jr
copyright 02-11-2008

Age Rating: 7 to 127

*Dedicated to my wife, Juney*

Like sketches on an artist's pad
a lifetime-landscape
indelibly brushed upon two hearts.

The painter's brush entices
in brightest colors and tender strokes
a real-life portrait of true love.

Adoration's eyes,
eternity's moment,
captive on canvas.

How talented the artist,
sketching these visions of unity.
Who signs the bottom of this sketch?

Not you
Nor I
But we.

Richard,

I really can't describe how I feel about this poem. It's so great!

"Adoration's eyes,
eternity's moment,
captive on canvas."

I love it, love it, love it!

LOVE IT!

'Who signs the bottom of this sketch?

Rich, while the power of one can be fine in the world of art, the power of 'we' in the world of love can and does spread like wildfire, burning away hatred, revenge, and differences that pull people apart.
This poem is especially appropriate for Valentine's Day, the day for love and lovers.

Richard - thank you so much for such a beautiful poem. Your pen is an artist's brush always painting lovely images with words. Equating love to the efforts of two artists in unison is indeed a wonderful and touching sentiment. xo...Juney
