Patchwork Quilt

As varied as a sill of spices
A graphic poem soft, yet bold
Joined with honored hues of living
A patchwork quilt, a story told

Patterns, colors, textures changing
Joys and sorrows intertwined
Traverse the ever-crooked pathways
No valued lesson left behind

If ever threadbare spots appear
From yarns spun of bitter brew
Mend the quilt with healing patches
Restore its stripes with colors blue

Well...

It looks like everybody took the good comments away from me!

I have to say, quilting is an excellent metaphor to use for so many things in life. It's always nice to see someone using it in a piece of writing to see how they use it.

I am definately going to share this with my step mom. She, like me, is a quilter and I think she would like it.

I really liked this. As Richard mentioned the comparative metaphor was quite good, but even more, I found the offer of a solution to mend the thread-bare spots, to really bring into my mind's eye, the reality of your vision of this quilt. Thank you. ^^
