My soul I would be willing to sublet...
This restless void I'd just as soon forget!
But my self steps in, inclined to forfeit...
Lingering qualms... of being a puppet.
Doubts of being worthy of the ransom...
But a need for something better to come.
Regret all of these years has left me numb...
Not knowing my destiny... where I'm from.
I had always thought that when I was grown,
I'd "find myself" when I was on my own.
A tendency for strife is all I've known.
Treading on water... on a sea of stone.
Fishing for acceptance, and casting blame,
A sinking feeling of losing the game,
I realize now, I can't erase my shame.
Wanting different... I'm stuck in the same.
