Mes trois pères

You are the Father who whispers to me,
None of this dictates who you are...
Pay them no mind, they cannot see you yet,
You'll just need to give them time.

You are the father who pretends to be.
I know not, what's waiting for me.
No one knows I see... I won't be sorry,
I will just know it is time.

You're also the father who's confiding
In me, your strength now has faded.
As if I could help you... considering
what you'll do to me in time.

You're the father who turned away from me.
Your pedestal is now crumbled...
You're not who I thought, in more ways than one!
I will mourn you for all time.

You are the first father who left me at 3.
I know you are out there somewhere...
I need to find you, find the rest of me.
Maybe we could bond with time.

You're not the right father either
That I thought you might be for me
We connected right from the beginning
At least, it seemed at the time.

You are the Father who reveals to me
"I provided the first one to
give a foundation ... the next to remind
You can't get back wasted time."

You whisper to me, asking "Do you know
Who you are? You are my child,
And I am Your Father, the One who will
Never leave you for all time."
