  Birds From The Cliffs

Depoe Bay-Oregon

(Shipwreck)

Windswept sea foam frothing
Bubbles form upon the jagged rocks
Of endless black

sloshing
sloshing

Heart and bodies clutching furiously
Partly hypnotized
Mostly terrified

pleading
pleading

The Sally Fine is breaking up
Twenty foot swells-building
deadwood reckoning

tumbling
tumbling

Grasping at times for blasts of fresh air
Voices attempt to pierce through
The salted icy ocean spray

reaching
reaching

Seagulls poised on tall perches - distant points
Hidden amongst the thick haze
Virtually mock and stare all knowing

shrieking
shrieking

Sensory perception kicking into high gear
Even these dastardly little birds can smell fear
Long before they taste it

sloshing
sloshing

I love it Susan. I love the sea and anything about it and as I read your work, I can feel and hear and experience the crashing waves and taste salt water. The piece moves along flawlessly, smoothly, with liquidity. It is a pleasing work awakening all my senses.

Bless you for sharing.

I very much like the way you work with form to create a living tempo and a vivid picture, and that from far less than a thousand words.

What is "Sally fine"? I can't seem to find any clues on the net. Adding esoteric things like this definitely create interest.

Good stuff.

Images are well arranged but the more emphatic point of your poem is the cohesion that I found in the suggestive refrains, the repeated lines.
It flows well and it is a very unique way of depicting the poetic vision. You are a visionary seeking perfection and excellence.
Bless you
Rajasir
