2500 Hundred Miles

I spent most of my life in the state of Maine.
My 39th year I moved to Texas.
There was so much to see and things to do.
Meeting more people , making new friends.
Some 2500 hundred miles from home.

The first thing I noticed about Texas......
Was the grass with the little stickys in it.
Taught me to not to take things for granted.
I can still feel the lush green grass from home.
I can smell the scent of the fireplace in winter.

I found myself wishing for rain.
Feeling the sun beat down on the state of Texas.
Every day I found smething new.
Growing closer to my new found friends.
Some 2500 hundred miles from home.

They say everything is bigger and better in Texas.
The desription seems to fit.
It just blows me away....Im so enchanted.
Now I call Texas my home.
Missing the coldness in Maine from winter.
