Some friends
Can be compared to
A glorious old forest.
Strong, true, and they withstand the test of time.
Other friends
Can be compared to
Sand flitting through an hourglass.
They never linger, but you never forget the time spent with them.
And yet, those friends
Who are but sand,
Sometimes you want them to be
The friends like the forest.
You cling to them desperately,
For they make you happy,
And you love being their friend
For the sake that they are like a sibling to you.
Sometimes,
The best thing we can do for our friends
Is to let them go,
To allow them to be scattered in the winds.
Even if it hurts,
There's always a chance that they will turn around,
Look at you,
And ask you why you're not coming too.
