Evening at the Theater

Part 1

Lacquered brown ambiance set the stage
She was about to step out on
Pale pistachio linens graced the tables
Frosted rosettes adorned stenciled red goblets
Glaring Deep
Draping purple velvet curtains-Lemon yellow roped tassels dangling
Parted neatly
Center folds falling away in ripples
Orchestra began to play softly
The Conductor turned to face the audience
Music following suit - It halted in accordance
Part 2

The Ring Master

"Ladies and Gentleman
* Welcome to Vaudeville *
Tonight's performance will introduce you to a multi-cast Circus
*** Staring ***
Vaudevillians
One lovely Vaudevillianess
The singing and dancing antics of
Miss Katheryn Kirkpatrick
[The crowd came to their feet]
The Ring Master continued his spiel
And this evening - for your viewing pleasure - allow us to present
Three Jugglers
Five Poets
Sixteen Dancers
And four Acrobats
Please remain in your seats at all times"
[Ushers nodded in approval]

[Speaker 2]
Patrick enters-takes over the poem

And all of a quicken someone in the back row yelled out
"Ah, to heck with yer jibber
Bring on the Girls!"
Food began to fly
Chairs were tossed
The Audience began to seek cover
[Uniformed attendants hurled the unruliest of the trouble makers towards the side exits]
Katheryn then heard the familiar holler of Sean's voice
"Get yer blemming cold 'n' dirty hands
Off of me cousin Jimmy"
The vaudevillianess Kate stomped her foot and yelled out
At the top of her lungs
"Sean
Be quick about it!
I've come to sing
And sing- to shout- I will!"
She drew in a deep breath and belted out the first lines to
Clancy's Wooden Wedding

"The Jig was up!
The crowd curtailed their fighting and joined in
My, oh my! We had a fine ol' time, we did...did we!
Thanks to red headed Katie
Our Vixen
She be!"
