Thanks, for the Paint

I want to splash my words
like Pollock’s paint
on the canvas of life;
out of my abstract,
expose repressed truths;
out of my surreal,
reveal shape and form -
substance and meaning;
color my numbers,
way outside the lines,
to discover joy
that never was.
I want to burst beyond the box
in rarefied space
too cold to breathe -
hit the page
in silver swirls,
magenta spirals, chrome yellow slashes -
onyx hyperbolas;
depart Cerenkov moonlight
to starship
at warp velocities
across garish galaxies
to find God,
touch his face
and tell Him thanks,
for the paint.

Thanks everyone, for your wonderful, warm responses to my poem. I wrote it after watching the video of the movie "Pollock" a couple of weekends back. I loved his freedom of expression and thought how great it would be to be able to write the poetic equivalent of a Pollock painting, with the same abandon. Thanks again, dear friends.
