Life's Dreams
by Frank Fields (Age: 69)
copyright 05-20-2008

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Have I your dreams or have you mine
Walk with me now this step in time
Smell the cinnamon on your lips
As Life's cup measure slowly tips.

What was the worth, what was the gain
If all it brought was tears of rain
Each a tiny diamond crystal
To final rest upon your mantle.

Is this my dream to share with you
Your lips like honey suckle dew
But gone again the morning come
Wonders where this dream is from.

Awake, my love my one true heart
Sleep not as mourning death does part
The mournful cry of mourning dove
Calls for its mate, long lost love.

Like lonely ships lost at sea
Life's longing treasure soon to be
An anguished tear, a muffled cry
In death a crimson rose will die.

Come dream honey dreams with me
Silver bells satin flutes I see
Angels' chorus pure sweet calls
Twinkling crystal waterfalls.

A last embrace before you leave
Leave me one soft dream to grieve
Of quiet shadows in my mind
Where lonely love was left behind.

This is really wonderful. I just want to keep reading it again and again! It flows beautifully and there is a lot of great imagery. I love it - well done!

once in days I held, a heart on finger tips, touched the perfect lips, let body invade mind, justified, then drank the wine, pride flew, lost in all, earth made its bid, till nothing left to give, memory stalks me still, will and memory, woe is tragedy, upon a canvas lie, my love, my heart, my life, your words and picture spill a few of my own thoughts.. You think of her often and your love is grand. This is the second poem today I read of yours and it's funny how the feelings the last one gave me seem to flow into this write also. Memories are great at times and sometimes they leave a lump in your throat, but having them does help. Another heart jerker! I loved it, Anthony
