Dark Side of the Quay
by June Nazarian
copyright 06-07-2008

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Gales over ocean
Angry the sea
Everyone perished
Dark side of the quay

Voluminous waters
Abundant in greed
Voraciously swallowed
For gardens to seed

Strangely compliant
This new fertile fare
Invited all creatures
A mission to share

Enjoy the grand feast,
Of this cold, dismal grave
Consume for new purpose
The sweet souls we gave

How gently the current
Flows deep in the ocean
Life's journey continues
In circular motion

Now hear salty whispers
Dark side of the quay
Omega to Alpha
In soft harmony

I thought this was a splendid piece, but just one thing confused me--how do you pronounce "quay"?
Because the rhyming made it flow beautifully, but the last verse caused me to stumble. "Dark side of the quay, Omega to Alpha, in soft harmony."

Is is "Kwu-ay" or "Koowee"? LOL Heed my mad written enunciation skillz XD

Still, I loved the imagery this gave. I'll leave points once I figure out pronunciation lol!

I"m not a great student of philosophy as are the other commenters, but I too have asked some hard (to me) questions of myself, my being, and my faith, and have mightily struggled to find answers and have at last found some that satisfy me. I guess what I am saying is, Keep asking the questions, it's the only way to get any answers, hard though they may be in coming.
