Are There Restaurants In Heaven

by June Nazarian
copyright 07-18-2008

Age Rating: 10 +

That Linkletter fellow had it right
They really do say the darndest things
Unfettered thoughts without inhibition
Engaging life through curious eyes

Sweet innocence free
From bundles of raindrops
Or buckets of rules
With heart-joy and hugs the gems are received

Absent the fear of honest expression
Ideas display with simplicity
Philosopher's musings
In primary tongue

Asking, learning, never stopping
The depth of question increases with age
But the wisdom of one seems quite universal
Yes, Virginia, there are restaurants in Heaven

What fun...what joy...I remember those little girls and boys who sat squirming on the Linkletter show...wondering and laughing out loud about what they would say next...smiling as I read your poem..a thought pondered in my mind..I believe they are probably drinking tea in heaven now & reading your poem at one of those restaurants..Cheers June you made me smile & remember a wonderful memory!

The first poem I read when I joined might just be the best. Lyrical and playful but left me with a sense of wonder. A intriguing last verse that shows a deep understanding of life and approves of the philosophical approach.

I know this is off the topic. But if there are restaurants in Heaven. Then who does the cooking. I for one would not want to spend all eternity in the KITCHEN.
