exposing a softness to its skin
a life of ease
jewelry adorning delicate hands
accustomed to accepting gifts
after all the cream is rubbed in
it gleams glistening like her rings
It works a magic with its touch
I have held that hand before
suddenly on the eye
wind blows strands of hair
tanagers fly away
to steal from blackberry patches
swallows alone are left
to announce the coming dawn
awake the heart's gray misdemeanor
I have heard that song before
warm arms across my naked back
light clawing fingernails heightening
the bliss imparted by kisses on my neck
I have felt that touch before
my body hold your pleasure
stay away from the drawing fragrance
of her perfumed ears
she forever tempted giving in
to the cat-calls of the
men upon the street
has not much left to give
only the odor of a fallen apple
and the origin of sin
I have smelled that scent before

This did seem to be traveling in a different direction, but so do many things in life. We all have great dreams in the beginning, but some don't turn out like we want. Sad to think that this ends with an unwanted smell, but sometimes you get roses and sometimes you get thorns. Great as you always do, Anthony
Well written and it bring to mind that the flesh is much weaker than the mind. The poem flows well and grabs and hold the readers attention from beginning to end. It has a great moral message and was very easy to understand. Thanks, Jeanette
"I have held that, I have heard that, I have felt that, I have smelled that scent, before. The hearts gray misdemeanor."
"Gray? I see shades of "deep seeded red" dating back to the era of the fallen apple. In my make believe world...the castle period, one would refer to these images as anything except gray...felony red comes to mind. Where's that guillotine? Off with his head! Or was that suppose to be, her head? Line em all up! This kept my attention from beginning to end...steamy!"

And still one more to remind me that just when I'm getting "comfortable" with a write and the direction it's going, is probably the time to be prepared for something to go in the opposite direction. This work is like that--carrying me along gently with pleasant images, then turning my awareness round at least half-circle.
Thank you ^^
(I would rather have completed the journey as begun. ^_~
