Silk is always attributed to smoothness, softness, caressing tenderness, and class. This poem has all of that, and quite a few more attributes like romantic honesty, sheer passion, and the brief tinge of a kiss. What a way you have with words! The poem does more than inspire longing, it brings out the natural speech of a heart in love.

Rich,
You certainly have a way with words for your loving wife. So romantic and sweet. I know she is very proud of you. Loved your words in your short, but to the point, adorable poem.

Richard,
this write is so much more concise and loaded with feeling and tenderness that I am very green with envy -- about you spouse (whom I have had the pleasure to correspond with recently), your imagination and superb writing skills. Are you or have you ever been an English Lit teacher? It sure sounds like it. This piece is so much softer than my "cut to the chase" write in Opus in Silk, that is chock full of passion and where the softness is obscured. I do agree with someones comment with regard to the word "how" on the penultimate line but think the work is really wonderful - for you both. I can relate but I am sure it means so much more to you and June. "The silk that wraps around you" both has the most stitches per inch than any other fabric. Respectfully, -Alan :-).

Richard, I read this again and loved it again. How you can get so much emotion and feeling in so few words is quite amazing. I'm off to the mall to see if I can pick up something in silk, :)........xo June(y)

Except for the two last lines you have a master piece in emotions.
Never correct others poems is what I believe.
Do try to rework the last lines removing the word 'How'.
Hope you come out with more strength.

To be allowed to share a moment such as this when words fail, on both sides most like, but still in all, for the lover/poet to share his world, pays high tribute to his love--and theirs. Would that all men and women could know your kind of love--a gift from the gods, truly. ~^_^~

Richard - What can I say but to thank you for writing such lovely, sweet poetry for me. Long before you posted your excellent works here, you wrote a beautiful book of short poems for me, remember? The way to a man's heart is through his stomach, they say, and you must admit I am a pretty good cook, but certainly one way to a woman's heart is through genuine, romantic, poetic expression of which you are its master. I wish I had your talent so that I could do the same. There may be one in the works - hold on to your hat and don't hold your breath, but maybe, who knows. xo June

Every word you write conveys very emphatically that the speaker is deeply dedicated to Her. I am jealous, Richard. You have a wonderful and understanding, loving partner to inspire you to write such beautiful lines. May there be eternal love to lead you through.
God bless you

As I read this, I sigh, and smile. Such a beautiful, soft, and simple picture. Just another example of the great love you have for June. She is indeed a very blessed woman to be loved so deeply. And I'm sure you would probably say that you are the lucky one...
