After You Leave

After you leave
Will I still breathe
Or will my heart stop beating?
In sorrow grieve
The Love that's freed
And mourn it silently departing?

After you leave
Will skies be blue
Or will gray clouds be dark above?
When Earth receives
The pouring rain
As tears fall for a changing Love?

After you leave
Will Time be still
The days and nights shall cease to be?
No hourglass, moments to kill
No past, no future, and no memory?

This was done very well.
It was all the questions that somehow race through your mind in just a second. In that one second that realize that things are changing and your life will never be the same...but somehow the world goes on. You know that time will keep going and skys will stay blue, but in that instant, you're not so sure.
This presented those feelings very well. Good work

I really like your poem. It expresses what I and I'm sure most people feel when love changes and departs. Sad in some ways but very true, the feelings come through your words. Beautifully crafted, one of my favorites.
Regards, Rodger

This poem reminds me of past experiences, which later turn out for the worst.
The thought of losing some you love is awful, it makes you nervous and you think about questions that you don't want to think about.
:O you've made me all teary
thanks for another beautiful piece. Sam

Cynthia,
I did so enjoy your poem "After You Leave." It has wonderful words that pour from your heart into such a musical melody of love and departure. I enjoyed reading it very much.
Hugs, Mae
