I have been married now for 34 years, to the same man;
Well , not really the same man;
The guy I wed was slim and had beautiful hair,
He was fastidious about his clothing and his car.
He was a "cut-up", a clown, a jokester and he wasn't afraid to laugh at himself
He invited others to laugh at (with) him.
Now, his hair is graying, his tummy is easy for him to keep an eye on
And he still loves to laugh and make others laugh;
So much so that he became a clown,
Costume, make-up and little buddy;
They march in parades and they visit sick children in hospital;
When I get frustrated at the fact that he forgets things that are important to me,
When I have trouble sleeping because he is a one man orchestra at night
When the couch seems like a good place to be to escape his snoring,
When he and I just don't see eye to eye
I think, there is no one else I would rather share my life with
And I thank God that we are still together and pray we remain this way for a long time.
