Stupidity

by Leigh Gilholm Fisher

Contest Winner

Age Rating: 10 +

Ah, may this fate be damned!
I’ve lost all my stars
I’ve lost all my points
Not to mention the connection to my first online home

Ah, I want to return to those days long past
But now it has changed greatly
Much of my group is gone
Now grown and forgetting the land of origin,
But who helped us become the writers and poets we are today?

Ah, so I shall attempt to attain this coveted gold star
Gather some points to run a few more contests
Halloween is but a day away,
But right now I shall say,
I do not need a reason stronger than those stated above
For at the end of every day,
Every year,
PnP is still the home I can return to

Leigh,
What a nice poem. I'm so glad you have returned to PnP. I haven't been here that long, but I simply love it. Your poem is so inspiring and a well written poem. Hope to see more of your nice work.

Hi Leigh ^^

I was beginning to think that this contest wasn't going to be appealing to anyone! :(

And just now, I've read your entry. :)

It's a very fine work and has all the elements I was hoping for, especially a good bit of humor and a good-natured sardonic tone.

But, you still managed to give us a valuable write that offers meaning, also, beneath the apparent surface.

Thank you! ^_^

Frank :)

I'm really so happy to see you back here, Leigh. I know it's changed, some have left, others are new here. That's just life I'd guess.

I have sometimes wondered if mixing Sailor Moon with Prose-n-Poetry gives some people the impression that PnP is not a serious site. I hope not.

Actually the stars on your works never disappear nor do the works.
