Dream Poem #1

by Richard Reed Jr
copyright 02-05-2010

Age Rating: 7 +

Jimmy was as are we all
Born into a world of sensless senses
Crawling into a terrain of undiscovered discoveries
Lost as he was in the woods and streams
Carried by the winds taught by the sounds
Imparted to him by nature
All he needed to know about life
Abandoned by mother and father
He was raised by a she-wolf high up in the mountains
Adopted by a trapper and his wife
He learned to write with tallow on a stick
Why at this time did the madness come?
Why did his care-free life take on a terrible seriouness?
He wrote seven characters jumped into the wind and was gone

Jumping into a senseless world, why not write a few characters and rejoin the wild where all he learned makes sense?

Hello Rich,
Jimmy sounds somewhat like a movie I saw. The boy who was raised by wolfs. You made me laugh with your tale of, as fast as he learned and earned, he was gone as fast as the wind. Good point and great imagination...Mae

Rick - very well done though it took me awhile to fully comprehend - and of course your hints helped! Happy the young lad in the dream so long as he was as nature, free and unencumbered, then goodbye. love it.. xo June
