Memories

Looking over pictures
Like looking back in time
I can see how growing old
Puts my thoughts to rhyme

Thinking of memories
Changes from life past
Reminiscing of good times
While life is fading fast

Remember all we see
The past and all its cost
Time changes, I agree
But loves are never lost

Letting go is the hardest
Walking forward, life a new
Tucked away memories add
Until life for us is through

Good work, this was a very enjoyable read! The poem conveyed its meaning simply but beautifully. The message is a very true and you told it very well. The picture was a perfect touch, too.

Mae - very true and very lovely way to say it. I have written a few poems about reminiscing, seems it is a common topic when one gets old. lol. How wonderful it is to recall the great memories of the past. It's sort-of like having another whole life, and it's especially nice when the selective memory remembers to forget the bad ones. thanks for sharing.. June
