Author's Note: This is a Sailor Moon story I wrote quite a while ago. I want to work on making it a better story, so if any of you readers find anything that should be changed, please feel free to give me as much constructive criticism as you like! I plan on rewriting the story, but would like some feedback on each chapter before I start tearing things apart. :) Also, I do not own Sailor Moon.
Pasts and Powers
Chapter One: Birth of a Senshi
"Their parents are dead... and the boy has amnesia, lord only knows if he'll recover."
A girl wailed, clinging to a boy who didn't know she existed.
"The girl's still young yet... we could find her a nice family to stay with. The boy, though.... we should keep him here at
least until his injuries have healed."
"Mamo-chan, it's me! Don't you remember?" The girl, whose brown hair was down to her shoulders, her brown eyes
brimming with tears, clung to her brother's arm.
"I don't know you... I'm sorry," he said regretfully.
"Come on, Ellie... time to go." One of the doctors came near the two children, and Ellie began to scream.
"No! I don't wanna go! I wanna stay with Mamo-chan! Please don't make me go!" She wailed and tried to push away
the doctor, but he ignored her and picked her up. "Mamo-chaaaan!" she wailed, one that made the other doctor look away
from the girl, a sad look on her face.

"Scott, you don't have to give me a ride home every day," Ellie said. She was now a beautiful girl of 15, and had hair
that reached her waist, held up with a green bow. She stood amidst a flood of high-schoolers rushing out the doors... it
was a beautiful Friday in mid-May, and nobody wanted to stay cooped up behind the school walls anymore. Her pink
tank top and worn-out jeans looked well on her, and Scott, age 18, with his long blonde hair and green eyes, ironed white
shirt and khakis, looked almost the opposite of her style. He grinned at her from his red convertible.
"Oh, but I must... can't allow you to walk home alone." He flashed that smile again, and Ellie giggled.
"You spoil me, Scott." Ellie smiled as she made her way to his car. He leaned over and opened the door, and she got in.
"You treat me like your girlfriend," she said with a smile. She pulled off her backpack and set it in her lap, then buckled her
seat belt, just before Scott sped off. He laughed at what she said.
"Well, wouldn't you love having a boyfriend like me?"
"Scott, your ego is showing." Ellie laughed.
"You didn't answer my question..." They came to a stoplight, and a herd of little kids slowly made their way across the street.
Scott looked at Ellie.
"I wouldn't mind having a boyfriend like you," she said, her face red with blushing.
"Then it's settled. I'm your boyfriend." He grinned as the light turned green and sped off again, leaving Ellie in shock.
"You're supposed to -ask- if I want to go out with you," she said, a little miffed.
"Oh, alright," he grumbled. "Will you go out with me?"
"Oh, what the heck..."
"See? I knew you'd say yes, so why bother asking?" He grinned as Ellie rolled her eyes. "Oh look, it's your house... I'd better
drop ya off." He slowed the car to a stop.
"Yeah, my mom would notice if you just ran off with me." She got out of the car and made her way to the sidewalk.
"Hey, wanna go see a movie tonight? The new Sailor V movie's out, straight from Japan."
"I dunno... mom might not let me, I've gotta clean my room."
"Oh, she'll let you, I promise. I'll be here at 7."
"Scott..." Ellie sighed. "See you at 7." He grinned as Ellie made her way back to the house, and when she got back inside,
he sped off.

"Mom, I'm home!" Ellie called into the house. When nobody replied, she assumed she was alone and headed up the stairs to
her room. Upon entering, she saw a pinkish cat asleep on her bed. There was a note on her desk from her mother:
Ellie-
Found this cat in the parking lot at work. Didn't look too good. Some punk must've dyed its fur pink. Name it whatever you
want. Kitty's food is in the kitchen, if she wakes up, feed her.
Love Mom
Ellie made her way to the bed to take a look at the kitty. It seemed to have a crescent moon-shaped mark on it's forehead, and its
fur was an even fuschia color. She pet it gently, and the kitty opened her emerald green eyes and yawned.
"What shall we call you, kitty?" she asked. "Pinky? No, that sounds stupid... Minerva? Neko-chan? Hmm... How about Aprhodite?"
The cat mewled in agreement.
"Then it's decided, your name is Aphrodite." She smiled and pet the cat some more, and soon it fell back asleep. She laid back on
the bed, staring at the ceiling, getting an odd feeling she knew the cat from somewhere. But that's odd, she thought, it's just a cat!
How can I know it? Her thoughts tumbled around in her head until she heard her mother call her.
"Ellie? You home? I need your help with dinner!" At that Ellie sat up, gave the kitty one last pat, and headed downstairs. She
encountered her mother, a short woman with curly black hair that reached her shoulders, at the bottom of the stairs. Grocery bags,
filled with food, lay at her feet. "And give me a hand with the groceries too." Ellie smiled and picked up a few of the plastic bags
and headed to the kitchen with them.
"So, how was your day, Mom?"
"Boring. How was yours?"
"Mildly exciting," she said as she put away a carton of ice cream in the freezer. "Remember Scott?"
"That nice boy with the blonde hair? Has a rich family? Yeah, I remember him."
"He asked me out, he wants to take me to the movies tonight."
"Oh really..." Her mother grinned as she looked at Ellie. "Congrats, hon."
"Heh, thanks Mom." She made another trip to the entryway to get some more groceries. "Hey Mom, the cat upstairs doesn't
look like it's been dyed... oddly enough, pink looks like its natural color. And it's got this interesting crescent-moon shaped
mark on its forehead, did you notice that?"
"No, I didn't..." Her mother shrugged her shoulders. " I don't know how I could have missed it, considering it's right there on
her forehead, if you're right..."
"Hmm... oh well. What's for dinner?" Ellie grinned.

'This is the girl Luna told me about...' Aphrodite thought to herself. 'I hope I don't have to activate her as a senshi due to an attack...
I'd like some time to train her before she has to face evil...'
As she sat there, thinking, she heard some scratching at the window, and saw a grey head poke up, a displeased expression on its face.
"Smoke!" she cried and ran to the window, prying it open as best she could with her paws. The window opened a couple of inches,
and Smoke crawled in.
"'Dite, I told you we were meeting tonight, why the hell didn't you leave the window open?" Smoke grumbled and licked his
paw, beginning to groom himself.
"I'm sorry, I totally forgot..." Aphrodite sighed and blushed. She had a very obvious crush on the grey cat, and she tried to
please him as much as she could, but to no avail.
"Well, remember next time. Jet's been activated."
"You've found Jet? Oh, bring him here! Ellie has to meet him!"
"NO!" Smoke said sternly. "It's too early. They may not even remember their past together, and all that may end up happening is that they meet
and dislike each other. We'll have to introduce them to each other slowly."
"Okay."
"I'm hoping there aren't any demon attacks before they're fully trained. If there are... we'll have a situation on our hands."
"That's for sure," Aphrodite said, sighing.
