Hi-way or No Way

Hi-way or No Way
Picture Credits: Painting by a student

As I drove on a road called Temptation
Near a cross street called Aggravation
I became lost
I parked near a lane called Despair
Where love cars were parked everywhere
Without a cost

I asked how to get on the freeway
They thought I had asked for a three way
Get me out of here
Hitting peddles so gasified
My driving was dissatisfied
All wrapped up in fear

Then there and behold, was in front of me
Came the hi-way out of my misery
While thinking of you
I found my street called Perfection
Next to my home intersection
To a love that’s true

Your play with words is wonderful, but realizing as I read on this is a bit of a love tribute it made me smile even more but... the part about the freeway - 3 way just cracked me up!

The road back home always seems a bit rough and tumble, but once there, was worth the return--especially since the way wasn't lost exploring the side roads of Life, but staying true to oneself.

Very nicely done, Mae. ^^

This was very interesting! The various comparisons were an excellent touch. Between the feeling given by the picture and the names you gave to the roads, the meaning you wanted to convey was very true. Great work, as always!
