Rising From The Grave

~Poetry Commission~

~Requested Subject: Zombies~

Tears are shed upon the dirt
Flowers are hung upon the headstone
Words of remembrance carved in the grave marker
They all depart, hearts heavy with sorrow

They speak of times long gone
Things they wish they would have said
But even when the eyes open once again
Confessions whispered to the grave fall upon deaf ears

For an envy of the living
And lust for beautifully crimson blood
Have consumed the humanity of the one you loved

The soil starts to tremble
And the ground begins to shake
The lid of the casket is pushed aside with inhuman strength
The tears suddenly stop
And a surprised cry echoes through the graveyard

A familiar face with deathly pale skin
Unfeeling cold eyes
And an aggression one could never foresee

Tears begin to overflow in fear and confusion
The person that once was is gone
Crying tears of blood,
The undead loose all control

Yes! Color! Drama! Emotion! OK, so it's probably been done already or something like it but who cares, it's great. Definitely a step up in your developing talent. I'm glad I picked this one to read. Thanks.

Ooooh... I really like this one. I can practically see the scene you've written here. And it's creepy, which is always a plus in my book! Great job.
