Asia Dawn

by Emily Valle (Age: 23)
copyright 11-30-2010

Age Rating: 1 +

Asia Dawn,
A little song.
A sweet precious melody,
How much you mean to me.
Your Dora books,
Your silly looks,
How you love to put on a show!
Your still so young, only one,
So much you have yet to know.
I'd love for it to stay,
To always be that way.
But I do in fact know,
That time goes by,
And how it will fly,
And you will continue to grow.
Asia Dawn,
My sweet little song.
You'll be loved all of your days.
Asia Dawn,
You'll be helped along,
I'll be there for you always.

Very nice! at first I thought it was about sunrise in Asia, then I realized that it was about a person! It's very cute and sweet. I really like it. I'm sure she will like it too when she's old enough to read it! A nice, cute poem suitable for all ages. Well done!

Asia Dawn is age appropiate for enfants to adults.
Dora fans will love it to!
Little girls like to be read too by babysitters, siblings or whoever happens to read this piece.
It does sound like lyrics too.
Good job.

That was so sweet, Emily.
You must love that little Asian girl very much.
I could feel your heart go out to her in the words of you poem. I enjoyed reading your pleasing words of strong affection in poetry form. Thank you for sharing.

The sweet and melodious tone emanating from the persona's heart is beautiful enough to draw the attention of a reader.

Elders must, without fail, endeavor their best to shower all the love on the younger ones. I felt a very special ring in this poem of yours.

God bless you

Rajasir

PS: A little work on metrical arrangement could add to the strength of the poem.

Very nice, sweet nostalgia piece (at least that's how it feels to me), brings back vivid memories of being a young father of three very lively siblings. The rhyming cannot be faulted. I did find the fluctuations in meter a bit jarring at first, probably from the shortness of the lines. That's not a criticsm by the by, just one man's opinion. Keep up the exploration of verse, the songs of varied thyme schemes and meters, and don't neglect the valued rhythms of free verse. I write more of that than anything else, but do ewhat you feel, I guess. Onward!
't neglect

I totally understand the love filling this page, I have a 7 month old daughter and she is awesome. Just keep filling her with love and the rest of the story will write itself.
