Looking Back At Me

To my shock with pose and grace
In the mirror I see
My mother’s image of her face
Looking back at me

Mom, I say, I understand
The troubles you went through
I applaud you with both hands
For things, you had to do

I know you are as proud can be
With memories I have got
Reflections in the mirror I see
Of you in loving thought

Inside me is your daughter here
Talking to whom I see
While looking at you in the mirror
Looking back at me

Hello Mae
Thank you for sharing this writing. I found it to be very expressive. How sometimes we do look in the mirror and see others from past to present.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful well written piece of work!

This is very nice and very well presented, Mae. Also has a "vintage" character about it that I find pleasing. I wonder if we all do grow into our parents, as the years pass by? Some of us, I'm sure, do. Left a little (or a lot) of room for the imagination, also. The unseen memories (by us), the esoteric visions, and more all made this a very interesting read.

Thank you. ^^

Frank :)
