The blessings of dignity of labour

The modern Indian education system is examination centered. In theory it is child centric and aims at the education of the whole man but in the actual practice it is very different. All education institutions are examining bodies. This is nothing but testing the memory of students. Broad objectives of sharpening intellect, enlarging vision, broadening outlook and cultivating sympathy are systematically discarded. Education has been turned into profit making industries. Our school and colleges are nothing but profit making shops. Passing examination with high percentage and maintaining high percentage of school results are the only aims.

The examinations oriented system leads to tension and mental stress. Post result suicides are a grim reminder to the people of the country CET and other tests are another challenge to students seeking admission to professional colleges and institutions providing advanced management courses. The excessive overdose of modern materialistic attitude has compelled youths to dream of a very high standard of living which needs high income. Students with high IQ and who also works very hard are able to complete and pass different professional examinations and become eligible to get highly paid jobs. Majority live a life of disgust, despair and dejection. These disgusted lots are denied the joy of living. This majority should become the lover of simple living and high thinking. They must seek contentment through self fewer social services. They ought to form an army to fight and root out corruption, religious and secular fundamentalism which is destroying social and political fabrics of the country. These youth ought to devote their leisure to wipe out tears from every eye. They ought to be social, political and environmental activist with such changed attitudes. Our youths will enjoy inner peace, sense of fulfillment and achievement. The dignity of selfless service. The moral upliftment of man is the solution of all our personal and social problems. Each one of us ought to be moral being and so also the state. This is what Dr. Bonsenwuet has outlined in his immortal book the philosophical theory of the state. Herald J. Laski believed that the salvation lies in man himself. The soul of reformation is reforming the soul itself. Moral perfection leads of spring of pure joy flowing from the depth of pure heart, after all pure heart is itself a paradise.
