Love's Game

by Alan Reed (Age: 63)
copyright 10-22-2011

Age Rating: 7 +

The cavalier paint on your face

gave you away,

no need to pace

And ask I not stay

Unmindful to my hurt

Your tilting taunts,

meeting rivers of tears

Are truly what haunts

I know I value little to you

And you the world to me

What can I do

Save drop to one knee?

I ask for strength

to ward the tears away

I would go to no length

to one day hear you say

That you finally see the truth

And I should have gotten my way

you are ready for peace

and no longer wish to play

I AM SO MOVED by this
tapestry of fine work that I all but
must comment on this piece.
I know the feeling well that this poem emmits
I've felt it for years and years without end to it.
Keep up the great work!
Keep Smiling and Keep Writing too^_^.

Happy Valentines Day

Yes I too have to agree that it is too short but it adds a certain message in doing so. Chase love, give love, take love, but not having the love is the worse.
Bravo!!

Yes, I made it short to hopefully dash a thought that was very verbose. - LOL Thank you, - warm regards, - Alan

Too short. Much too short. The kind of image one wants to continue on and on. But, was purposely done and told its story well. Very well. Takes a special skill and talent to combine such a weaving as this one. ^^
