Hector the Hog

Hector the Hog was the king of the farm

He paced up and down in the yard

He was known for the way that he kept the peace

And his temper was really quite hard

If there was a dispute with anyone else

They would always call Hector to judge

Then when he had reached his verdict on that

There was no way the Hector would budge

So when Hector went missing it was a surprise

Why, even the pig sty was locked

The rumors began, he was taken for meat

And that came as a terrible shock

Now Harry the horse decided to strike

And said, lets down tools till he’s back

That just won’t work said Barney the dog

If we do that they’ll give us a whack

A strike was ruled out and they all agreed

A go slow would suit them just right

So banners we made and plans were worked out

They were going to give them a fight

The go slow went according to plan

And soon all was in disarray

The sheep refused to follow the dog

The cows would not milk and just lay

Douglas the donkey he didn’t do work

So stayed in his shed all the time

While Harry the Horse developed a limp

So couldn’t move fast, which was fine

The day finished like the day had began

With no sign of Hectors reprieve

They said they would carry this on the next day

And always, until he’s retrieved

The very next day a big lorry came

Sweeping straight in though the gate

The back door was opened and out of the dark

Came Hector the Hog looking great

Now everything well in Hector domain

And everything’s as it should be

Hector it seems was just down the road

In the pig farm with rosemarie
