Lies (The Mirror Sestet)

by Adam David Mckim (Age: 28)

Age Rating: 16 +

Lies from you in the sweetest guise,
guise you were, spilling lies.
Tears on my pillow with all my fears,
fears of drowning in all my tears.
Pained with truth, my heart is stained,
stained with lies, my soul is pained.

"I love you" you say, your greatest lie,
lie about love between you and I.
True, you spoke it and I said it to you,
you said it as words, I said it as true.
With him you are not, that was a myth,
myth filled with lies, it's me you're not with.

The Mirror Sestet

The first word of line 1 rhymes with the last word of line 1.
The first word of line 2 is the last word of line 1.
The last word of line 2 is the 1st word of line 1.

And so on...

Hello Adam,
Forgive me for being such a slug. I'm way behind on my pnp reading. Currently catching up to what you posted over the summer. It looks like you've written several interesting pieces. I think I'll give a Mirror Sestet a try. Thanks for the friendly shove/push.
Susan
